Isn't it a great feeling when dinner turns out well? I feel like there are so many things I want to bake or cook, and something always seems to go wrong. It is usually something that can not be fixed.
The last few weeks I have been cooking a lot more than I have in the past. This is mainly due to the fact that I am living in a smaller town, where there are very few options of restaurants. (I love eating out, so this is a good way of "weaning" me off of this 'eat out' habit.)
As I have been trying more meals, I have had several moments of success and other moments of failure. It is true though, the more you cook, the more you learn about different techniques and what works best. You learn this from your successful moments and from your cooking mistakes.
Today, I made cinnamon rolls and potato soup. Sure, I had to call my mom a few times with questions, but it turned out yummy and was edible, and that's what matters!! When things turn out, I actually enjoy cooking! (Just don't tell that to Matt.)
Basically, I am grateful for all of those moments where I had cooking failures, because I did learn from them. And now, Matt is able to enjoy more of his meals!
